Some of you may remember our Collective Leadership: Shared Governance programme. Unfortunately due to COVID we had to pause this piece of work. This gave us the opportunity to reflect on what we have learned throughout the pandemic and how we improve and progress this great work.

We have taken a lot time to reflect, reset and next week we will officially launch Nursing and Midwifery Excellence.

Nursing and Midwifery Excellence is our way of delivering the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Pathway to Excellence Program®. Pathway to Excellence® is a globally recognised, nursing and midwifery framework.

Through Nursing and Midwifery Excellence we will be working towards Pathway to Excellence® accreditation. To achieve accreditation we need to show that we meet six pathway standards. The six pathway standards are:

Over the coming months our nursing team will be out and about talking to you about what this means for you, your team and our patients. 

While this programme is focused on nursing and midwifery, our allied health care professionals and healthcare support workers also have an important role to play. Read our handy toolkit here for more information. 

Anyone who wants to make meaningful change to the care that we deliver, can get involved in this important piece of work.
