The Curriculum mandates that you are required to log 60 hours of learning at each level of training, of which 30 hours needs to be logged as core. 
Core Teaching:
  • Weekly lunchtime teaching 12:30-14:30 (F1 on Tuesdays and F2 on Thursdays)
  • Better Doctors Better Patients 6 hours per day (18 hours in total - F1 only)
  • F2 Professional Programme 6 hours per day (12 hours in total - F2 only)
  • AIM course 7 hours (F1 only)
  • SIM 4 hours (F1 & F2)
Non-Core Teaching:
  • E-learning (Aside from that specified by The LEP/Foundation School)
  • Departmental Teaching (eg seminar/tutorial/small group teaching/audit meetings)
  • Grand Rounds
  • Balint Groups
  • Schwartz Rounds

Exclusions:

You must not evidence the below topics under your personal learning log as they will not be counted towards your teaching hours

  • Statutory and mandatory training (except where specifially mandated by the curriculum eg Safeguarding)
  • Induction Sessions
  • ILS/ALS/Equaivalent
  • Completion of SLEs 
  • Standard Ward Rounds
  • Other regular on-the-job activities (incl. tasters)
  • External study leave (conferences or similar)
  • University/Higher Education Course
