Help us assess the working ideas for surgery in the Path to Excellence Programme
Calling out to staff working in general surgery and trauma and orthopaedics – would you like to help us assess the working ideas that have been developed so far in the Path to Excellence programme?
The ‘working ideas’ published in February 2019 outlined a clear ambition to separate emergency operations from planned operations with multiple benefits for both patients and staff.
This would mean South Tyneside District Hospital would provide only planned operations, with all emergency operations and some planned procedures taking place at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Both hospitals would continue to provide outpatient services as well as diagnostic tests and scans.
Now we are asking staff to help us assess the working ideas to help us further develop proposal for a public consultation later in the year.
We are seeking a cross section of staff from a range of clinical and non-clinical roles to get involved in an on-line workshop. We are asking people to express their interest so we can make sure there are a range of different staff across different bases and clinical interests.
Each session will be no longer than 1.5 hours and we will make sure people can access the IT so please register your interest and we can make arrangements for you to be involved if you don’t have regular access to a computer.
The workshop style sessions will take place on-line on the following dates:
