Due to the closure of the COVID advice line on 3 July 2022, managers are reminded that they are now required to record any COVID related medical suspensions in ESR via self-service. This also applies to staff who use the Health roster system.
Following the withdrawal of the Amended NHS Terms and Conditions of Service - COVID Related Occupational Sick Pay, a review of the local agreement regarding reimbursement of annual leave during periods of medical suspension for positive COVID has also been undertaken. With effect from 1 August 2022, you will not have an entitlement to reimburse your annual leave during any period of medical suspension.
NHS Employers has confirmed that the temporary pay arrangements for employees who are on long term sick leave due to COVID/long COVID are to be withdrawn with effect from 1 September 2022 and all employees will return to the previous NHS Terms and Conditions of Service in line with Section 14 of the handbook, in relation to sick pay entitlement.
