Withdrawal of Amended NHS Terms and Conditions of Service - COVID Related Occupational Sick Pay
NHS Employers has confirmed that the temporary pay arrangements for employees who are on long term sick leave due to COVID/long COVID are to be withdrawn with effect from 1 September 2022 and all employees will return to the previous NHS Terms and Conditions of Service in line with Section 14 of the handbook, in relation to sick pay entitlement.
The following table details of the process the Trust has in place to consult with you:

Phase 1

The Trust will meet will all employees currently on amended terms and conditions, in relation to uplifted Occupational Sick Pay, and will confirm with them that this arrangement will end on 31 August 2022. (The meetings can take place face to face or virtually)
Phase 2
4 Aug – 31 Aug 2022
The Trust will write to all employees affect confirming their entitlement to Occupational Sick Pay will revert back to the normal sick pay entitlements in line with Section 14 of the National Terms and Conditions with effect from 1 September 2022
Phase 3
1 Sept 2022
All employees will revert back to sick pay provision in line with Section 14 of the National Terms and Conditions of Service
From 7 July 2022 any new episode of absence due to COVID, the provisions of section 14 NHS Terms and Conditions will apply in relation to payment of occupational sick pay and the application of the Trust Attendance Management Policy, including the trigger will also be applied in respect of any new episode of absence due to COVID from 7 July 2022.
