Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week is a week-long campaign dedicated to talking about mental health problems before, during and after pregnancy. On Tuesday 2nd May the Maternal Mental Health team are hosting a Q&A session.

There have been a number of recent critical incidents whereby patients in our care have choked on their food.

A new bed rails risk assessment tool for adult inpatients will be launched on Wednesday 3rd May. This will replace the current tool which is automatically added on admission for all adult inpatients to the electronic medical record. This is to be completed on admission and following any change in the patients condition.

Our bed replacement programme will start from Tuesday 5th May 2023. As part of this we will be replacing patient beds and mattresses at South Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital.

The Trust is moving to a single cross-site Soliton Radiology Information System for Diagnostic Imaging services. This will be going live from 8am on Monday 24 April 2023.    The teams have tried to minimise disruption.
