Remove ordering ability in Meditech for Diagnostic Imaging
Day / Time: Friday 21 April from 12.45pm to 6pm
Impact: Manual requesting required via cards during this time for diagnostic imaging - these can be collected from Radiology reception at either site if you do not have any available or can be found via the following intranet link http://stsft-intranet.franktesting.co.uk/search-results?search_paths%5B%5D=&query=downtime+request.
Electronic requesting will become available again from 6pm - Use as normal.
Reporting will not be available electronically for Diagnostic Imaging
Day / Time: Friday 21 April 1pm until 8am on Monday 24 April
Impact: Newly acquired diagnostic imaging reports will not be available via Meditech (historic will still be available). Imaging will be reported by 4Ways with a formal report emailed back to the Radiology department. A paper copy will be delivered to the requesting clinical teams or ward for filing in the patient notes.
Ordering Configuration Updates in Meditech
Day / Time: Friday 21 April 6pm onwards
Impact: Configuration of ordering categories within Meditech will change for diagnostic imaging requests. Currently orders are requested under a specific category, for example a Chest X-ray may be ordered as ST Chest at South Tyneside, or Chest DGXR if at Sunderland. Going forward, this will change so only one entry will appear to select.
The questions presented at the point of ordering will also differ slightly, with the intention to provide a cut-down version of the current questions asked on requesting.
Due to this change, you may also lose some of your favourites within Meditech. You will need to re-add your favourites if they do not appear.
Please note, PACS availability will not be affected during this period.
Many thanks for your patience during this period.
