For those Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions staff who have a strong interest in Practice Education or student support then working in the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions Education team may be a career pathway option. The NMAHP Education team provides support to Practice Assessors/ Supervisors, Practice Educators and students to ensure high quality placements. Working closely with Higher Education partners to achieve this.
Having a relevant nursing or AHP degree is essential as working in this team has a strong educational focus. Experience of supporting students across a range of learning environments, educational audits and a passion and drive for student support is essential to working in a Trust education team.
Preceptorship programme - The Practice Education team are responsible for leading on, organising and delivering of the Trust`s Preceptorship programme. This is a mandatory 6-month development programme, no funding required. This programme is provided by the Trust for newly qualified nurses and AHPs. Adaptation Programme - Nurses from other countries seeking employment within our Trust are required to fulfil Nursing & Midwifery Council requirements so that they may practice and register to work as a nurse in England, they are required to undertake and pass an adaptation programme.

The Practice Placement Facilitators working in the Trust are responsible for the allocation and placement of students, educational audits, essential to the partnership approach to learning and providing high quality placements for a range of students and learners across our Trust’s. They work closely with clinical educators to ensure a supportive and developmental placement experience is achieved for all our learners/ students and future registrants. Part of the PPF role is to adapt to innovative ways for student support, learning and increasing our placement capacity utilising new theories, best evidence and technology to achieve this.
