Please be aware that the Hoverjack is currently unavailable for use in wards and departments at South Tyneside District Hospital. The Hoverjack is usually held in the Medical Equipment library at STDH and is used to lift patients who have fallen on the floor back onto beds or trolleys. We will provide updates as soon as we receive them.
We continue to review our guidance around PPE in line with national guidance and the current levels of COVID-19 within the Trust and our local communities. There is no doubt that wearing a face mask has benefits and offers protection from COVID-19 and other respiratory infections. An article by staff from Gateshead Talking Therapies has been published in a national journal 'CBT Today' which is aimed at all psychotherapists working in the UK. The article concerned how the work of the Mental Health Workstream's Wellbeing Strategy Group adapted to the needs of our Psychological Therapists during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ways of working continue to be taken forward by Gateshead Talking Therapies and the South Tyneside Lifecycle services.
