Life-saving scans have been launched through a new service at Sunderland Royal Hospital which will give cardiologists vital information they need to treat a range of heart conditions.

Staff within the trust who have served in the armed forces or reserves in any capacity are invited to attend a buffet being held by the Trust during Remembrance week as a small acknowledgement of their contribution to the Trust, wider community and country.

From Monday (31 Oct), we plan to change the current visiting rules. This means people will no longer need to book an appointment. We have talked to ward managers about this before we make this change. We hope this will make life a little bit easier for staff who we know are very busy. Please see the updated rules below. This will start from Monday.

Earlier this month the Fire, Safety and Security Team undertook a GOTCHA campaign on wards and departments at South Tyneside District Hospital. This involved the team attempting to gain access around the site to test the security measures in wards and departments. Also, to see how staff would react to someone walking around looking lost or even suspicious.
