On Friday we celebrated our first Staff Recognition Awards as South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. Over 400 colleagues attended the event at the Beacon of Light. Nine award winners, decided by a panel of judges following nominations from their peers, were announced. A Governors’ Award and Chief Executive Award were also part of the glittering gathering.
This programme will equip the attendees with the essential skills, knowledge and understanding in order to work effectivity and confidently in with older people with complex needs, and their families and carers.

Car parking outside of maternity at South Tyneside District Hospital will be cornered off whilst a new bed implementation project is on-going.
The Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla will take place this Saturday, 6 May 2023. To mark this historic event we will be celebrating across the Trust.
You may be aware of work taking place in Chester Wing to improve the outpatient pharmacy and reception area. As part of this we will be moving the reception and self-service check-in desks to the right of the entrance. The pharmacy will move to the left.
Repairs have been made to the Kayll Road reception doors at Sunderland Royal Hospital following damage caused to the entrance last night.
Due to increase in demand, to ensure staff are compliant with safeguarding level 3 safeguarding training 2 additional face to face sessions have been added to ESR for the 7th June and 4th July.
