Further to recent communications, the health and safety self-assessment has now been distributed across the Trust and the deadline for this to be completed is the 30th April 2023, however we are asking that it be completed without delay.

From 21:00 on Friday 21st April until 17:00 on Saturday 22nd April, works will take place to upgrade the Medical Gas Infrastructure. This will result in the road closure at the rear of the site (adjacent to staff car park); however, the staff car park will still be accessible from the Chester Road end of the Hospital.

From the 1st October 2023 e-learning will no longer be accepted as an alternative to face to face Basic Life Support training for staff.

When confirming a patient is medically fit for discharge (via the Red 2 Green assessment)  you must tell us what assessment/services are needed for a safe discharge. We also need to know who has asked for it/recommended it. 

To help celebrate World Book Night on Sunday 23rd April the Library Services team giving away a free book which will be available to collect at SRH or STDH Library Services Education Centre.

Nurse Practitioners from Sunderland Community Integrated Teams were invited to an "Innovation in Enhancing Care of Older People Celebratory Event" at Newcastle Gateshead Hilton Hotel on 23 March 2023 to celebrate their achievements in Graduation from the Enhanced Care of Older People Programme (ENCOP) at either Essential or Specialist Levels.

NHS England have notified that over the course of the next 12 months the PPE items will be phased back into business as usual ordering processes and NHS Organisations will now be charged for these items as they were pre-COVID pandemic, as and when stocks of the free PPE is depleted.
