Innovation in Enhancing Care of Older People Celebratory Event

Nurse Practitioners from Sunderland Community Integrated Teams were invited to an "Innovation in Enhancing Care of Older People Celebratory Event" at Newcastle Gateshead Hilton Hotel on 23 March 2023 to celebrate their achievements in Graduation from the Enhanced Care of Older People Programme (ENCOP) at either Essential or Specialist Levels. 

The programme is hosted by the North East and North Cumbria Ageing Well Network with the aim of "developing a valued workforce to meet the needs of older people integrating research, education and caring".

The key note speaker was Professor Alan Gordon, President of the British Geriatrics Society and he presented the staff with their Certificates of Achievement.

The team are very grateful to Lynne Shaw who has supported and facilitated the process in Sunderland.

The rest of the Nurse Practitioner Team are undergoing the competency based assessment and hope to graduate within the next 12 months.
