This is awarded to an individual who shows exceptional leadership skills in one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrable outcomes in performance, locally or organisationally, due to their contribution and leadership.
  • Leading staff through organisational development or change.
  • Encouraging and motivating staff to develop and achieve personal and/or organisational goals.
  • Fostering an open and honest culture within their team with staff feeling empowered to take action or raise concerns when they feel improvements could be made.

The individual will be someone who places quality at the heart of everything they do and inspires every member of the team. Entries must show how the nominee’s leadership behaviour has impacted on the quality of the service delivered to the benefit of patients or customers and their staff.

Nomination Guidance

  1. The citation should focus on the impact of the nominee.
  2. Please provide enough context for the judging panel to understand why the impact was significant as they may not have much knowledge of the field. Why does this work? 
  3. How are they going above and beyond what they are expected to do? What are they doing differently?

General advice: Start with a sentence that summarises the impact that the nominee has had, follow up with the achievement; provide evidence to support the case.
