Applications are open for our Leadership and Management apprenticeships.

We offer these in partnership with South Tyneside College (Level 3), Sunderland College (Level 5), Northumbria University (Level 6) and Sunderland University (Level 7). These are funded by the Trust through the Government Levy, and compliment the range of in-house leadership development programmes that we run. 

We have arranged some sessions for colleagues to attend who are interested in the apprenticeships. These will be held in the STDH Education Centre, in the Lecture Theatre on Friday 21st July:

  • Level 3     9.30 - 10.30am
  • Level 5     11.00 - 12.00pm
  • Level 6     1.30 - 2.30pm
  • Level 7     3.00 - 4.00pm

For those with some management responsibilities with little/ no formal training and are serious about developing your abilities. It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders and first line managers who need to lead people through organisational change

Level 5 

for those looking to continue their studies in management, middle managers wishing to learn new skills and those who want to underpin their practice with knowledge of latest theory and methodology, while gaining a high level qualification that reflects their understanding.

Level 6

This has been designed in collaboration with a range of employers and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Appropriate for those who are established in a line management role and those who have already achieved a relevant Level 5 qualification.

Level 7

The opportunity has arisen again for the Trust, in partnership with the University of Sunderland, to offer a Level 7 Senior Leaders Masters Degree Apprenticeship Programme (SLMBA). Information about the SLMBA is attached and staff at Band 7 and above are invited to apply if they wish. Can I please ask you to bring this to the attention of appropriate staff within your teams.

The first stage is completion of the application form with support from the Line Manager.

The next stage involves your application form being reviewed by a Selection Panel following which the applicant will be advised of the outcome.
