What we do

The Organ Donation Group promotes and facilitates organ donation within the Trust.

The benefits of transplantation are hard to dispute. For instance, when compared to long term dialysis, kidney transplantation offers a longer life expectancy, improved quality of life and very significant financial savings. The availability of suitable donor organs is the principal determinant of the number of transplants that can be carried out in the UK each year.

Potential organ donation referrals (24/7/365) are accepted via a central HUB, who relay the referral to an on-call SN-OD.

You will need to give your name, the hospital name and department and your contact details. The SN-OD will then phone you back.
