We are a nurse led specialist service for patients of all ages with a wide variety of complex wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and surgical wounds. We provide specialist advice and care to patients, carers, health care staff and allied health professionals. This service is provided to patients in their own home, hospital settings, the hospice, nursing and residential homes, GP surgeries and other clinical settings. We deliver an extensive education programme in the prevention and management of pressure ulcers, leg ulcer management and wound care for staff working in primary and secondary care.
At appointment patients will be given information about the best treatment for their wounds, and together with their healthcare professional we will develop a wound management plan.including advice about how to self manage their condition.
