Our Delivery Suite at Sunderland Royal Hospital has 11 en-suite delivery rooms and an antenatal and postnatal ward with 23 single rooms for your postnatal stay. We also have a birthing pool room should you wish to have a water birth.

Our consultant-led maternity unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital is recommended for high risk pregnancies. Examples of this would be a baby in a breech position, a planned caesarean section, high blood pressure, a BMI over 35, or if the patient is carrying twins.
