Outpatients

We have an Outpatient Contact Centre which deals with appointment queries relating to outpatient appointments as well as all new outpatient referrals.

The Contact Centre is open: 

• Monday to Thursday -  7.30 AM to 7 PM
• Friday -  7.30 AM to 5 PM 
• Saturday -  8.30 AM to 1 PM

Outpatient departments:
There are several outpatient departments across the South Tyneside & Sunderland area and include:

• Chester Wing @ Sunderland Royal Hospital
• Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic @ Sunderland Royal Hospital
• Urology Centre @ Sunderland Royal Hospital
• The Galleries Health Centre, Washington. 
• Durham Treatment Centre, Belmont
• Outpatients @ South Tyneside District Hospital
• Palmer Community Hospital, Jarrow

Each site has a team of skilled staff comprising of Staff Nurses and Health Care Assistants who support clinicians and patients across a range of specialties. Patients are referred for diagnosis, investigations, treatment and follow-up for a range of specialties which include:
