Speech and Language Therapists (often called SALTs) work with children, young people and adults who have a range of speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties. Our team of SALTs have specialist skills and expertise to assess and diagnose your difficulties. We will then work with you to plan the best way forward to support your needs, offering advice and therapy when appropriate.

Our children’s service can help with:

  • Delayed language development
  • Developmental Language Disorder
  • Speech sound difficulties
  • Learning difficulties
  • Stammering/Dysfluency
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Swallowing difficulties
  • Physical Disability such as Cerebral Palsy

Our Adult Service can help with:

  • Swallowing difficulties
  • Stammering/Dysfluency
  • Head and Neck Cancer, other cancers e.g. lung, brain
  • Voice problems/cough
  • Stroke
  • Dementia
  • Long term neurological problems such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Disease, Head Injury
  • Head Injury
  • Adults with Learning Difficulties when admitted to hospital
