Overview

Podiatrists are healthcare professionals who have been trained to diagnose and treat abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. We can also treat and alleviate day-to-day foot problems, including: toenail problems, such as thickened toenails, fungal nail infections or ingrown toenails. corns and calluses.

We specialise in helping patients improve their mobility, independence and quality of life by diagnosing and treating foot and ankle problems via Biomechanical assessments and a range of treatments from shoe orthoses to steroid injection therapy.

Podiatrists are also qualified to carry out treatments and minor surgery on ingrown toenails.

We provide the following services:

  • Diabetes Outpatient Clinics – The key function of these clinics is the rapid access to assessment and treatment for patients experiencing diabetic foot ulceration. The aim is to heal ulceration as quickly as possible and to promote better awareness of the risk factors and improve the prevention of further foot complications.
  • Nail Surgery assessment and procedure – Full / partial nail removal for patients with recurrent ingrown toe nails or gross thickening of nails under local anaesthetic.
  • Electro Surgery – removal at dermo-epidermal junction of long standing lesions such as plantar corns, verrucae which have not responded to conventional treatment.
  • Biomechanics. Insoles, pressure-relieving devices and dynamic devices to realign the foot and assist/cure biomechanical or gait problems.
