Today is #WorldMenopauseDay and with this in mind, our deputy director of HR Jan Armstrong has shared an update:
"We are passionate about making STSFT an even better place to work, which is why through our Big Team Talk we have strengthened our staff engagement programme to ensure Team STSFT feel listened to and supported.
"In March 2022, we signed up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge. This demonstrates to our commitment to supporting our wonderful staff at all stages of life and career, ensuring that any employees experiencing the menopause or perimenopause feel well informed and actively supported. By signing the pledge, we
Recognise that the menopause can be an issue in the workplace and women need support.
Will talk openly, positively and respectfully about the menopause by promoting information events, podcasts and discussion with staff.
Actively support and inform our employees affected by the menopause, both through our Positive Staff Health Network but also by encouraging an open dialogue about menopause in the workplace.
"Over the coming year, we will continue to work towards long-term sustainable change within the workplace. This will include cultivating an inclusive culture where people feel comfortable to have conversations about menopause in the workplace with the eventual ambition to attain accreditation as a ‘Menopause-friendly Employer’. Managers will be provided with guidance and training to ensure they are equipped with the skills to support colleagues experiencing symptoms."
