Winter staffing hub

Over the busy winter months, the Corporate Nursing Team will set up a new winter staffing hub.  This is to support the daily nurse staffing review.  This will start on Tuesday 3 January until Sunday 26 February. 

How will this work? 

In hours (7.30am to 4pm) 

Ward Managers, Nurses in Charge and Matrons should continue to review nurse staffing in their own areas.  Please do all that you can, as you usually do, to address staffing issues.  If you still have staffing gaps, please let your Matron know.   

• Matrons must contact the winter staffing hub as soon as possible in the day. 
   
• Matrons must also contact the winter staffing hub at the end of their shift.  This is to confirm the nurse staffing for their areas and to raise any concerns.  

Out of hours (4pm – 8.15pm weekdays and 7.30am to 8.15pm at weekends) 

Out of hours, the winter staffing hub will review nurse staffing across the Trust.   The winter staffing hub will take action needed.
