The way we capture and learn from patient safety events is changing...

NHS England is about to launch the Learn From Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) service. It is a national service for collecting and analysing records of patient safety events.   

It will launch in late summer/autumn.  

What's changing? 

Incidents will still be reported through Datix in the same way that you do now. You will notice some additional questions. 

All healthcare staff are encouraged to record patient safety events. This is to support national and local improvement to make care safer for patients. You can find out more on the LFPSE webpage www.england.nhs.uk/patient-safety/learn-from-patient-safety-events-service.
