Upgrade of electric vehicle charging points at South Tyneside District Hospital – work starts Monday 6 March 

Work will begin on Monday (6 March) to prepare for more electric car charging points at South Tyneside District Hospital. 

The upgrade work will last about four weeks. It will help us create new spaces for use by electric vehicles.

This will be done in a series of phases. This will start with digging work next to Bede Wing.

It will then move to the road next to Harton Wing car park and the main drive from Harton Lane. Clearly signed diversions will be in place. 

To complete the work we will need to cordon off a number of parking bays around East Block. Cordons will be put in place the evening before.
