The Trust has updated its guidance around Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff. This has been updated in line with national guidance. 
What has changed?  

  • Routine use of face masks  
  • Terminology of transmission-based precautions  
  • It is now no longer mandatory to wear a facemask when in any clinical areas or when delivering direct patient care or in patient's own homes. This includes our previous high-risk areas such as critical care, oncology and renal. 

Please use your own professional judgement to determine the PPE requirements in line with the updated posters below. We would, however, ask you all to respect the wishes of our patients if they do ask you to wear a facemask.
