On Thursday 1 December we updated our NHSP incentive schemes and have introduced new arrangements for December and January (click here to read the full details). We listened to your feedback before making these changes to try and make things fairer. The new NHSP incentives began on 1 December and they now replace all other schemes. We will review things again at the end of January.
PLEASE NOTE - We can confirm that any NHSP shifts already pre- booked for the 1 and 2 December under the previous incentive arrangements will still be honoured and paid under the previous incentive arrangements. These shifts will also count towards the new £250 incentive scheme.
We have also some questions about the rate of pay for additional NHSP shifts. If you pick up a shift in line with your current pay band, we will pay you at the top of that band. So, if you are a Band 5 and you pick up a Band 5 NHSP shift, we will pay you at the top of Band 5 for that shift. If senior nurses (Band 6 and 7) need to do Band 5 shifts, we will still pay the top of your usual band. The Head of Nursing or Deputy Director of Nursing must agree this. If it is out of hours, the Duty Matron or Clinical Site Manager must agree this. We expect any senior nurses who pick up these shifts to continue to show leadership in line with their usual role.
