Around 100 delegates from across the Trust attended the 7th Annual Meeting of Sunderland Spine Forum on 30th June at the Education Centre at SRH. The event is a free full-day spinal conference organised by Mr Lakshmanan. Delegates enjoyed talks on this year's headline topics of Cauda Equina Syndrome and Spinal Infections. Updates given on Osteoporotic Vertebral Body Fractures, and Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression. Interactive breakout sessions allowed delegates a chance to try using surgical equipment, familiarise themselves with rehabilitation aids, and learn more about imaging of the spine.
This year's 'Spine Star Award' winners were Mrs Claire Jobson, Ward Manager of D48 for her relentless work over the years, and the MRI Radiographers for their fantastic service and always going above and beyond.
The meeting was organised by Mrs Kathryn Ramshaw with the help of Mr Larry Jagonase, Mrs Chelza Chisholm and Mrs Rose Nocon, with special thanks to Mrs Nicola Lawson, Mrs Misch McCormack and Mrs Sue Hudson who facilitated the day.
