Sunderland Eye Infirmary joins the World Association of Eye Hospitals

Sunderland Eye Infirmary has joined the World Association of Eye Hospitals (WAEH).

WAEH brings together standalone eye hospitals or eye departments.

Its aim is to improve patient care.

It also works to make experiences and outcomes better.

This is by supporting and promoting the exchange of knowledge.

It shares best practice in the planning and running of services.

We are a full member.

Joining it allows us to learn from the work of other services.

It also showcases our own work and care we offer.

Other members include Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, and West of England Eye Unit, Exeter.

International members include Sydney Eye Hospital and the Magrabi Eye Hospital, Saudi Arabia, the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in the USA.
