The South Tyneside & Sunderland Grand Rounds are a series of educational talks open to all trainees, Consultants and allied health professionals in the trust. It is an opportunity for colleagues to come together and share their knowledge and expertise.
The tradition of Medical Grand Rounds can be traced back to William Osler, the first professor of medicine, beginning in 1889 at John Hopkins University. It is classically a presentation of a clinical case to a wider audience of doctors to encourage learning and reflection. It has evolved to include all members of the multidisciplinary team and its format can be adapted to fit the needs of the learner group.
We encourage colleagues and trainees to come forward and present on cases and relevant clinical issues that have changed their practice.
We have organised a semester of talks at South Tyneside Education Centre which can be accessed remotely on Microsoft Teams. The schedule is available below.:
Please register your attendence below.
By registering we will be able to ensure there is capacity for all delegates on the day and if lunch is provided we can give sponsors an estimate of demand.
We look forward to seeing you all there and if you have any queries or want to give a presentation please feel free to get in touch with myself (Samuel.Duffy@nhs.net) or Jen Watson (jennifer.watson30@nhs.net).
