Roadworks planned close to South Tyneside District Hospital

Work is due to start on a new crossing near to South Tyneside District Hospital.

South Tyneside Council will carry out the construction of a parallel crossing close to the junction with Forth Court, where there is a roundabout nearby.

This work will start on Monday, April 17, and take around three weeks to complete.

During this time, 4-way traffic lights will be in place close to and incorporating the roundabout.

The council has said alternative parking arrangements may need to be made during this time.

It has offered an apology in advance for any inconvenience caused and it says it will ensure any disuption is kept to a minimum.
