A message from the team:

Thanks to those of you that nominated us. It was wonderful to see that all of our efforts over the previous five years had paid off! Also, thank you to the T&O Research Team, which includes all of the Principal Investigators and Co-Principal Investigators of all the completed and ongoing studies.

Message from Mr. Dan Dowen (T&O Research Lead):

I am extremely proud of the team, and thank to everyone that contributes on a daily basis to our ever-expanding portfolio. We have come a long way since we started, so it's nice for the team to get the recognition. We were up against some very tough competition, from a variety of departments that have a lot more resources than we do, which makes this award even more special. Keep up the great work everyone! I'm genuinely really proud of you all.

The T&O Team led by Dr Dan Dowen have actively developed and expanded research, embedding a culture of research as standard clinical practice considered in the everyday management of patients – with patient suitability for trials incorporated into the daily MDT. The team has grown from a small core of interested staff to a fully dedicated multidisciplinary team of consultants, junior Drs, advanced clinical practitioners, research nurses, a dedicated research physiotherapist and occupational therapists. The team are committed to the development of staff and have demonstrated this via success in Greenshoots Awards, engagement in the associate PI scheme, NMAHP PIs and the involvement of Junior Drs in research. The T&O team have been recognised as top recruiters to a number of complex trials and were recognised as the Top Recruiter for 2022 – 23 at the NIHR Musculoskeletal Trauma Trials Annual Conference. "
