Prescribing and administration of Parenteral Nutrition on Meditech

Dear Ward Managers,

The prescribing and administration of Parenteral Nutrition will be documented on Meditech from Wednesday 8th June. 

Please see documentation below detailing the process for administration, i would be grateful if you could share with your teams.

• Prescribing out-of-hours parenteral nutrition

In simple terms the administration is done through MAR in exactly the same process as documenting medication infusions. Dietician colleagues that plan parenteral nutrition have received comprehensive training as this aspect is a more noticeable change for them and they can be a resource to you if you have any queries regarding this.
