Transitioning at Work and Gender Diversity Policy

This policy was developed to ensure all processes, including recruitment, are free from discrimination with regards to gender diversity. The policy sets out the ways we will ensure that Trans and Non-Binary members of staff are supported before and during their employment within the Trust.

It makes clear the expectations on managers to support Trans colleagues who are transitioning at work and provides guidance on how to do so. The policy includes a support plan that can be completed by managers when supporting a member of staff who wishes to change their gender.

The policy also outlines the responsibilities of all members of staff to create an environment within the Trust which is inclusive and free of prejudice. The policy provides examples of discrimination and prejudice based on gender identity to educate employees about bullying, harassment and violence and to ensure the Trust investigates all claims of bullying, harassment and discrimination that are made.
