A huge well done and congratultions to our colleagues who were presented with their PNA certificates in the lecture theatre at Sunderland Royal Hospital today.

Elaine Coghill, Deputy Director of Nursing who presented the certificates said:

"This is a really exciting time for Nursing at the trust with our first cohort of registered nurses receiving their certificates for completing their professional nurse advocate programme. There are many more currently undertaking the programme and more nurses that want to start the programme.

As we begin on this journey, this programme will enable nurses to develop the skills they need to listen and understand the current and future challenges. It will help our nurses develop a resilient mindset attitude to learn to take care of themselves and each other.

The enthusiasm, energy and commitment that these nurses have already shown is admirable and I look forward to working with our PNAs to see the difference they make across the organisation to support staff and ensure we continue to deliver high quality care to our patients."
