Parkinson’s UK has updated our process and dates for 2023 pump priming applications for nurses and AHPs.
We will now be requiring all interested parties to submit an expression of interest form. (no one will be rejected at this stage this is for us to gauge interest and to ensure that every service is offered the same opportunities for help and support with submitting a bid). Someone from the Service Improvement Team will follow up each expression of interest.
We have updated the web pages and the guidance notes to reflect this change. Any questions please contact serviceimprovement@parkinsons.org.uk

Parkinson’s UK and Neuro Heroes - an online gym run by specialist neuro physiotherapists - have launched the Neuro Heroes Community Exercise Fund: www.neuroheroes.co.uk/community-exercise-fund
The fund will subsidise the first six activity sessions for members of the Parkinson’s community who would not normally be able to afford these privately funded classes. Anyone with Parkinson’s who claims Universal Credit or Pension Credit can apply for the subsidised classes (£15 for six sessions). In addition, healthcare professionals who work with someone who is not on Universal Credit but would otherwise be unable to afford the session, should get in touch with Neuro Heroes to discuss the application.
