Our trauma and orthopaedic team has been named 'HUSH Top recruiter'

Our T&O team is delighted to share the good news with colleagues that we are the TOP RECRUITER nationally for HUSH trial 2021! 

The HUSH (Humeral Shaft Trial) is ran nationally by University of Oxford, and is a multi-centre trial of surgical versus non-surgical interventions for humeral shaft fractures in patients aged 18 years or older. 

STSFT has been actively recruiting patients into this trial across both hospitals with Mr. Thomas Dehler as Principal Investigator and Mr. Alan Cooney as co-Principal Investigator for our Trust.

In total there is 39 sites open for recruitment in the U.K and with their hard work, our T&O HUSH Research team is the top recruiter in the first year of the trial. They would like to say thanks to all the staff from T&O department for all of their support.

Being the top recruiter of a national trial helps to raise profile of T&O Research at STSFT, and expand our Trust research portfolio, as well as contributing to NHS research activities for evidence based practice and treatment.
