Preceptorship

The next multi-professional Preceptorship programme is on 10th, 11th & 12th July.

If you are a new Band 5 registrant, return to practice Band 5 or have not worked in the NHS for the last 5 years, then preceptorship is for you.

The 2½ day programme signals the beginning of your 6-month preceptorship journey, is delivered via teams, and equips you with everything you need to know about preceptorship, including what support you can expect from our team and in practice.

Care Certificate Programme

This is a 2 ½ day programme that our new HCA’s/HCSW’s are required to attend to go through the completion of the care certificate standards, new to care training and rapid induction programme. This is delivered every 2 weeks; the next programme delivery will be 26th-28th June.

 

New to Care Training Programme

New to Care Training will provide some basic nursing care training and a "psychological safe space" to new HCA/HCSW's. This will help them achieve to be confident and competent on their skills that are fundamental to their role.

 

Rapid Induction Programme

New HCAs/HCSWs who are joining the Trust will be added in the rapid induction training. This includes vital signs training and reporting, NEWS escalation, Infection and Prevention and reflection. For HCA’s/HCSW’s from non – ward based areas who are considering supporting ward areas, we offer rapid induction, which will include further education and training in relation to ward based nursing.

 

HCA Development Training- Post Care Certificate

Dates are out and this has been shared with all managers and team leads. It is a prerequisite for you to pass your care certificate to attend Phlebotomy, Female Catheterisation and Assisting Ingestion of Oral Medications.

Enhanced Interactive Care and Observation Training (EICO)

The EICO aims that all HCA/HCSWs are working flexibly to meet needs of an individual patient ensuring that the patient’s safety, comfort, and well-being whilst at the same time fostering positive therapeutic relationships.
