Are you a dental nurse or a healthcare assistant working in a department or outpatients setting but are willing to work NHSP shifts in an acute inpatient area? If so, this may be of interest to you.  After listening to your feedback, we are now pleased to offer dental nurses and healthcare assistants the opportunity to undertake further training and shadowing shifts to then be able to work NHSP shifts across the acute inpatient wards.

Initial shadowing and training will take place as paid Band 2 NHSP shifts with the opportunity for on-the-job coaching to help you gain experience of working on an inpatient ward.  This is fantastic opportunity to develop skills in a new area as well as:

  • Building confidence in dealing with complex patient care
  • Gain experience in a different clinical setting and knowledge of specialist services
  • Gain a clear understanding of the inpatient pathway
  • Add valuable experience to your CV when applying for other roles, promotion or courses.

Staff must be registered with NHSP, this is an easy process with a quick turnaround of 48 hours.  To register an interest in this opportunity, or for more information contact the NMAHP Workforce team – stsft.nmahpworkforce@nhs.net, please supply your name and contact details and any relevant experience that you may have.
