NCEPOD is undertaking a study to review remediable factors in the quality of care provided to patients, aged 18 and over, with a diagnosis of endometriosis. They are recruiting a multi-disciplinary group of healthcare professionals, with a working interest in the care of people diagnosed with endometriosis. They are looking to identify remediable factors in the quality of care received by patients and produce a national report with recommendations to improve the quality of care provided.
Case reviewers will be asked to attend meetings during which they will assess case note extracts and questionnaires and provide expert opinion on the quality of healthcare received by people with endometriosis. The training day will be held on the (if you are unable to make this date, training on an ad hoc basis is possible). You would typically be required to attend/join a minimum of 4 subsequent case reviewer meetings at the NCEPOD offices in London. Full training will be provided at a training day meeting (date TBC). It is anticipated case review meetings will begin in February 2023 and will run for approximately 6 months.
The data collected during these meetings will form a major part of the study’s final report. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
NCEPOD are looking for senior clinicians from a wide variety of specialties, including (and not limited to) obstetrics/gynaecology, general practice, surgery, reproductive medicine, anesthesia, urology, radiology and pain specialists, and endometriosis specialist and general nurses. They aim to recruit senior clinicians (grade ST6 and above) to ensure that applicants have enough experience for the case note review. All applicants should be in current clinical practice.
