A project is under way to improve the department.
It includes updating its theatre space in its first phase.
It will be followed by the revamp of its rooms.
To allow the theatre work to progress, four new air handling units need to be lifted into space.
This work will take place from early on Sunday, July 23, and take around 10 hours to complete.
It will involve a 40 tonne all-terrain mobile crane, which will arrive on Sunday.
The work will also see wagons carrying the equipment arrive onto site.
Preparations will begin on Saturday, July 22, when our Security team will partially cordon off the Chester Wing car park.
A road closure outside the entrance to this part of the hospital will then be in place on the day.
Traffic management will be in place while this happens.
There will be no vehicle or pedestrian access to the Outpatients entrance while this work takes place.
As soon as the work is complete, the crane will be lowered and access reinstated.
It is hoped disruption can be kept to a minimum and your patience will be appreciated while this important work happens.
