Information events are planned to mark International Clinical Trials Day 2023 in our Trust.

It is celebrated every year on 20 May in recognition of James Lind and the development of what is considered to be the first randomised controlled trial in 1774, investigating the treatment of scurvy in sailors.

To promote the many research opportunities open to patients and staff at STSFT, the Research Team are hosting stands in the main entrances at South Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital between 1pm 3pm on Friday, 19 May.
