Information ahead of planned repairs to hot water and heating supply at South Tyneside District Hospital 

Repairs will help put a stop to a water leak at South Tyneside District Hospital.

Our estates team will carry out the work between 7pm and midnight on Thursday, June 1.

The cold water supply, including to toilets, will continue during this time.

But there will be no hot water/heating to all areas of the Ingham Wing.

This includes Theatres, Endoscopy, and Out Patients.

The work is being carried out at this time, as many of these areas will be closed for the evening.

The team is aware this will impact on our wards.

Conversations will be held with those in charge of those areas.

Anyone with questions can speak to their line manager.

The usual supply of hand gel will be available for use and the boiler taps in kitchen areas will still work.

Cold water can also be used as part of our hand hygiene routine.
