Maintenance is due to be carried out on specific switchboard at Sunderland Royal Hospital this Sunday, July 23.

The work will be carried out under controlled conditions.

It will start from 7.30am.

Each area involved will be contacted directly and visited before the work takes place.

It will mean there will be two instances of interruption.

This will mean they will be without electricity between 10 and 30 seconds.

The locations are:

  • All areas of Chester Wing, Trust Headquarters and data centres
  • Fracture clinic, the multi-storey car park, Niall Quinn Centre and M1 and M2 blocks
  • F Block – Anaesthetic Department, Ward B26, Ward C36, D Level Theatres 10 and 11, Ward 56, F Level Theatres 1 and 2
  • B Block – Medical Records, staff changing area, Patient Liaison. 

Medical equipment used on the wards may already have a back-up battery facility.

If any areas need equipment to be checked or assurance given it will work on a battery supply, please contact Steve Wardropper.

IT systems such as HISS, email and EPR will be experienced.

A copy of details will be sent on a red letter to all areas affected before the works.
