Important information - Road Closure at Sunderland Royal Hospital

From Monday 18th July,  extensive work will commence to install new pipe work at the rear of the Sunderland Royal Hospital. The road at the rear of the hospital site will be temporarily diverted through the car park, until further notice.  

This route is for cars and small vehicles only and is not suitable for larger vehicles, which should be diverted to an alternative route through the Hospital Site. Can we ask staff to avoid this area if at all possible, to minimise disruption. 

There will be additional measures and diversions put in place to support this work. We will continue to keep you updated on these developments.
