When booking your stat mand fire training (face to face) on ESR, please check that you are NOT enrolling on the Management Fire Safety & Evacuation Training (Manager Level) course. This course is 2 hours duration and designed for Managers/Deputy Managers or nominated persons who will have more responsibility for fire safety within their workplace.  An example of this person would be someone who has responsibility for the Dept. Fire Risk Assessment and those who have been nominated to undertake routine fire safety checks in the department.  The course is valid for 3 years and the year you complete the course, also counts for mandatory face to face fire training for that year.

Unfortunately, the last four courses facilitated by the Fire Safety Team, staff in attendance have either enrolled on the wrong course or their manager has enrolled them on the wrong course.  This impacts on course numbers and in some cases only leaves one person left in the classroom on the day.

Mandatory fire safety training is a different course to the above. All staff without exception must attend mandatory fire safety training.  This course is 45 mins long and is delivered face to face or via an e-learning module.  Important note - all staff must attend a face-to-face session at least once within a 2-year period.  This will be recorded on your ESR matrix.  Staff must not solely rely on the e-learning fire safety module without attending a face-to-face session every other year.
Conflict Resolution Training (CRT).
CRT training is a 2-hour session and should be attended by all front-line staff especially those that encounter conflict situations on a regular basis. Staff are booking on the course then not attending. If you are unable to attend, please let ETC or the Fire Security Manager (ext;49613) know in advance and give a reason for your non-attendance.
