This takes place every year.
It offers a chance to showcase and celebrate the phenomenal work and innovative treatments and techniques which have been created by research and development.
#Red4Research also brings together all those taking part, supporting, and undertaking research on the front line and behind the scenes in the NHS.
To mark the event, landmarks across South Tyneside and Sunderland, will be lit up in red.
This will include South Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital.
We are also being supported by South Tyneside Council and Sunderland City Council.
The National Trust and Beacon of Light are also joining in.
