The Home Alone exhibition, performances and workshops that will be held in South Tyneside over the next few weeks. This exhibition includes workshops, meet the artist sessions and live performances.
Some of the workshops are aimed at professionals working in health and care to reflect on the research and consider implications about addressing issues of loneliness and social isolation.
The work was created following research carried out by artist Sharon Bailey working with older people in the North East who were receiving care in their own homes. It is a living room installation of objects, pictures and an audio diary telling the everyday and often untold stories and experiences of living alone. The programme challenges us to explore ways of working to support greater connectivity and creativity and how professionals who are going into peoples homes have such a critical role.
