Do you know someone who might benefit from a free healthy cookery course? Do you work with patients or service-users who may need support with managing their food budgets whilst still making filling and balanced meals?

Bags of Taste is hosting a FREE two-week cookery course, teaching local people how to cook healthy meals on a budget. All they need is a kitchen and a phone.  Participants will get a bag of food and recipes delivered to their door, for free, so they can cook-along and make three delicious dishes!

Bags of Taste is a not-for-profit organisation, and has been funded by Sunderland City Council, Sunderland Public Health, Sunderland CCG and the National Lottery Community Fund to offer these free home-mentored cooking courses to Sunderland residents who are struggling with their food budgets. They will deliver a FREE bag of ingredients for three delicious, low cost meals, each serving three portions, to a referred persons door. They will then mentor them by WhatsApp or phone while they cook the recipes in their own time over a two week period.

This is a great opportunity for those in our local communities who are currently not in employment or are on a low income and struggling with the cost of living crisis.

There are still some remaining places left on the current course, which starts mid-February, and then a further 30 places on the second course which will start in April.
