About 30,000 homes in Sunderland can get cheaper broadband, and the Digital Poverty Alliance revealed that just 3.9% of homes are taking advantage. This means thousands of people are missing an average saving of £200 per year (Ofcom 2023) discounted deals, also called a ‘social tariff’, which can support people to access the internet in their home.
